Join us at the Greater New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade Day on
Sunday, March 10, 2019
Start your day off great with the parade Mass
PLEASE NOTE: Mass has been changed from St. Mary Church, Hillhouse Avenue, New Haven, 10:00 am to St. Stanislaus Church, 9 Eld St, New Haven, 9:00 am
The Most Reverend Leonard Blair, Archbishop of Hartford
will once again preside as celebrant. Last year’s Mass resulted in ‘standing room only’
Besides our patron, Saint Patrick being honored, Joan Moynihan, who was president of the IACC in 1988/89 as well as being quite active in the Greater New Haven Irish community will also share in the celebration. Joan passed away on March 13, 2009.
The parade committee will march up the center aisle in full dress. Also in attendance will be colour guards from both the Knights of Columbus and the New Haven Police Emerald Society. Quite a colourful Mass.
Hope to see you all there.
After Mass refreshments will be served
thanks to the Pioneers of the Sacred Heart.
We are appealing to everyone to come out on Sunday, March 10th at 1:30 pm to show the spectators our pride in our true Irish heritage as we march down the streets of New Haven.
NHGF&HC President Anne Hines is looking for members to march with the club in this years parade. We need 42 people to carry the various flags, so call soon as they are going fast.
Please don’t let the people down who revived this grand parade in 1956. Some of them may have passed on, but their memories are still with us.
There will be a bus leaving from our Club at 11:30 am SHARP to bring us to the starting point of the parade.
Afterward the bus will transport the marchers back to the club for Ceol Agus Craic.
