New Haven Youth Gaelic Football

***See Attached Game Schedules Below***
Dear Families
We hope that you are excited about the 2010 Continental Youth Championships this weekend, and all the exciting sports and social vibe that makes our community so special. It will be an event that our young players will remember for the rest of their lives, and a tribute to the rich legacy of the New Haven Gaelic Football & Hurling Club and IACC. We are entering Gaelic football teams from U8 through U16, as well as participating in hurling and camogie competition. It will be a thrilling experience for all.
Still, it is not
without its
operational
challenges. CYC is a
vast undertaking,
with clubs from all
over the continent
as well as Ireland
and the UK
participating. The
North American
County Board
compiles the games
schedule and is up
against all manner
of last-minute
changes and panel
cancellations making
it a gargantuan feat
of logistics and
organization. In
the last three days
we have received no
less than 6 (six)
distinct versions of
the schedule, which
had we distributed
them to you
individually would
have been a
frustrating exercise
in mental
gymnastics.
Attached is the
version that we
received this
morning, July 27th.
Please check the games carefully as they apply to your youngsters. We have word from The Holiday Inn Westbury that it will take cancellations without penalty until 6:00pm on the day prior to original booking date. A further e-mail will go out tomorrow by noon to confirm as to whether this sixth version is indeed the final edition so that families may make travel plans as appropriate. Make sure to arrive with sufficient lead time before the first games so that players may properly register for the event.

Remember to keep your children well hydrated this week and during the competition. Our kids have been training hard, and all panels will be forces to be reckoned with at Eisenhower Park this week. GO NEW HAVEN!
